Speech-language pathologists treat more than speech production. Following a concussion or brain injury, speech-language therapy may address cognitive-communication skills such as attention, memory, processing speed, executive functioning, word retrieval, comprehension, verbal organization, reading, writing, and cognitive endurance.
Treatment focuses on improving underlying skills while developing practical strategies that can be applied to conversations, daily routines, medical management, work, school, and other meaningful activities.

An occupational therapy evaluation may examine areas such as visual acuity, tracking, saccades, scanning, convergence, visual fields, and the functional effect of visual symptoms. When findings require care outside the occupational therapist’s scope, referral to a neuro-optometrist, ophthalmologist, neurologist, vestibular therapist, or another specialist may be recommended.
Speech-language therapy primarily addresses the cognitive and communication skills needed to understand, organize, remember, and communicate information. This may include attention, memory, executive functioning, processing speed, language, and cognitive endurance.
Occupational therapy addresses how visual, sensory, physical, cognitive, and nervous-system-related symptoms affect participation in everyday activities.

Yes. When clinically appropriate, patients may participate in both services. The speech-language pathologist and occupational therapist can collaborate to ensure that treatment goals are coordinated and that strategies are being applied consistently across daily activities.
For example, speech-language therapy may address planning, memory, and self-monitoring, while occupational therapy addresses visual tolerance, sensory overload, pacing, and environmental modifications affecting the same work or household task.

Telehealth allows treatment to incorporate the patient’s actual environment, technology, work materials, school responsibilities, household routines, and organizational systems. This can help patients practice strategies in the situations where they need to use them.
Referral requirements may depend on the service, the patient’s location, applicable professional regulations, and the requirements of an insurance plan or legal funding arrangement.
Referrals may be accepted from physicians, neurologists, neuropsychologists, psychologists, physical therapists, chiropractors, attorneys, case managers, and other professionals involved in the patient’s care. Patients may also contact us directly to discuss whether services are appropriate.
Appointments may be requested through our online booking system or website contact form. After receiving the request, we will contact you to discuss the appropriate service, availability, required documentation, and payment arrangements.

Neuro Health and Healing operates primarily on a fee-for-service basis and does not directly participate with insurance plans.
Patients with out-of-network or PPO benefits may be eligible for partial reimbursement. Coverage is determined by the individual insurance plan, and reimbursement cannot be guaranteed. Patients are encouraged to contact their insurance company to ask about out-of-network benefits for speech-language pathology or occupational therapy.
When appropriate, we can provide a superbill containing the information needed for the patient to submit a reimbursement claim.
Neuro Health and Healing will consider Letters of Protection or other authorized payment arrangements for qualifying personal-injury cases.
Acceptance is determined individually and may depend on the patient’s clinical needs, available records, jurisdiction, proposed terms, and confirmation from the responsible legal office. Approval of an LOP is not guaranteed and must be completed before services begin.
A future-impact report describes how documented cognitive-communication or functional limitations currently affect the individual’s daily activities, relationships, education, employment, and independence. When supported by the available clinical information, the report may also discuss anticipated rehabilitation needs and potential areas of future concern.
Reports are based on the clinician’s evaluation, treatment history, observations, records reviewed, and professional scope. They do not guarantee a particular recovery trajectory or legal outcome.
